Distilled water is also the best thing for cleaning windshield. It don't spot.

One more consideration;
https://benignblog.com/deionised-wat...ry-electrolyte Apparently there are unscrupulous vendors of "de-ionized" water. It may be difficult to find this type that is certified mineral free.
