Re: Precedent - bucket harness missing 48v relay taps
First season w/ cart, for now this setup will work. I plan to install an aux batt (footwell) to power everything, in near future. A 48v-12v reducer is $300+ (OEM) and still uses the packs for power, so not an ideal choice for me.
Can I add an ignition relay tapping into existing dash wires for power/gnd? Thanks Tahoe and Sergio for the info. |

Re: Precedent - bucket harness missing 48v relay taps
Unless You are planning in adding a winch, keep in mind that a 48v->12v converter will only use about 30% of the current used by the 12v accessories.
A lot of people put such a small battery for 12v accessories that placing the same load on a converter would be negligible on a 170AH+ 48v pack. Anyway, David at RevolutionGolfCars.com sells the plug-and-play converter for Precedents for a lot less than $300: https://www.revolutiongolfcars.com/p...-precedent-30aIf Your brake timer is not working or You just want to make sure all 12v accessories go OFF with the Key Switch, use a 48v relay: Until You get your accessory battery, just interrupt the Blue wire that comes from your bucket harness. Look at that 12-pin to 12-pin connector that goes to your 16v->12v reducer and locate the wire that corresponds to the blue wire that is tapped to the 16v battery post. Cut the wire and place each end on the relay where it says 12v. |

Re: Precedent - bucket harness missing 48v relay taps
48v reducer ordered, good price/customer service.
Brake timer installed is 30s, which is fine but still plan to install the above mentioned ign. relay. Should help with keeping all acc disabled w/ key out. LED rocker switches = child magnet. No winch plans for this car...maybe airbags. Jk :) |

Re: Precedent - bucket harness missing 48v relay taps
That plug-and-play converter You ordered will automatically turn ON/OFF with the key switch, no relay needed (the harness taps into the key switch signal already)
The only think You will need to do after the converter is installed is to move the Blue wire from the bucket harness that is currently connected to the +16v battery post all the way to the +48v (pack positive) battery post. |

Thank you for always being there to help people while I'm turning wrenches all day, Sergio. It's greatly appreciated.
