Most likely it's caused by dissimilar metals migrating.

I’ve seen this a few times. It happens every time on salt water flooded carts and a lot on carts from the islands around here.

After soaking mine with everything I could think of for about a week, I used a heat gun and heated the spline area, being careful not to get it over about 150 degrees F. I then kept tapping the bearing end with a brass hammer until I finally got it to wiggle a little. After awhile it finally slid off. It's a PITA! Is this only a CC problem? I've got to take a motor off an EZGO TXT that has been at the coast several years. Will I have the same problem??

Doubtful. E-Z-Go uses a 19-spline setup instead of a 10-spline like the ones found on the Club Car. Club Car uses much larger splines that are much larger with much deeper engagement. That's why they don't strip out like the E-Z-Go ones do.
