Default 2000 DS Resistor Cart Solenoid

2000 DS resistor cart 1 solenoid setup. New fully charged batteries. All wiring re-done per diagrams. No solenoid click.

When jumping solenoid cart runs at what seems like full throttle in forward and reverse without touching go pedal. Is this normal?

Only thing I did different from diagram is wire reverse to 36v instead of 18.

Thanks for all replies!

All I can think of is you seem to have a stuck microswitch and/or solenoid on your bank. When you jumped the main solenoid it goes because there is a switch or solenoid engaged.

Thanks Nole. There is no bank of solenoids. Only one. It is the newer style. (Which is still old now LOL)

Check the Vglide wiring again, paying attention which end is the low speed and which end is the WOT.

If the pedal was UP at the time, the only explanation is that You have the wiper ARM wire connected to the full speed or the end of the coils that goes to the motor.

The wiper is wired along with the 2 whites that come together at the bottom of the V Glide.

Update, my bad. NOT running WOT when solenoid is jumped. Responds to throttle when jumped but it still runs when jumped.

Bad solenoid or microswitch then- or it could be wired wrong...

Thanks Luke. Yes I'm leaning toward bad MS or solenoid too. I'll get on that later today.

What I can't understand and can't wrap my head around is if the wiper arm, the wire from the solenoid (white), and the wire (white) going to the slow end of the resistor coil are all energized when the solenoid closes, it seems to me the motor has no choice but to run without pressing the go pedal. If in F or R of course.

Every diagram I have looked at here, and all over the internet show it wired this way.

What am I not understanding?
