Default Club car DS speed upgrade(newbie)

I've got a 2004 club car DS. All I know about is it's 36 volt, has the v glide assembly, and has resistors. I want to upgrade speed to maybe around 20-25 MPH or higher. I do not want to upgrade to a computer controller if possible. My rad parents EZ-GO has that and it is always melting and causing problems and golf cart shops can't find out why. So if everyone would care to explain me my options on upgrading speed without changing too much. I've looked at gear ratio upgrades but am unsure if that will cause higher strain on other components.

I'm not sure I don't have it right now. It's at family members house. I'm going to pick it up and fix it up in a couple weeks. Just looking to see what I can do to increase speed to get all my prices straight.

Well it's stock as far as I know. I bought it that way. 36 volt. V glide assembly. And resistors between the batteries and motor.
