Good luck, let us know what happens! G1 can be a lot of fun and those carts are tanks, very reliable compared to other carts.

Boom I got it today! So I opened up my wire harness and where one of my grounds jumped out of the harness it had rubbed against the frame and split, also I changed out the main battery cables, I cut them in half just for curiosity and they were corroded bad.

So I took it out on the golf course this evening and about 3 hours in she shut down on me.... Took it home and the battery was drained.... Brand new battery, for some reason it's not getting charged, any ideas?

I think its similar to the G2, it has a VR on the rear fender its a metal box. They can be adjusted. Anyway could just be wiring. The small wires out of the gen on the side of it do the charging, they go to the voltage regulator. It runs current through them to excite the windings and make it charge when voltage is under 13 or so. Look at the wiring diagram in the stickies posts above.

Hmmm well, wiring is good, brand new starter, voltage regulator, and battery. I'm definatley convinced its wiring but its just a matter of finding it, ill see if i can find the right wiring diagram and see if i can track down the culprit.... been an awesome project thought, i have learned so much. ready for this one to fly the nest so i can start the next one!
