Default TXT 3rd charge port wire.

Third white-to-red wire-
What does this wire do and is it okay that they bypassed it? and if I open up the box is it a ussual fix or does it have a micro processor or something. Maybe it's just corroded inside? I'm just trying to figure out if I should just forget about it or get that third wire system going back again for him.

Details:
My friend has a txt and at the box that mounts to the golf cart where the charge plug then plugs into that box has a positive and negative going into it and then a white wire that's about 4 inches long that changes to a red wire and goes to the direction control switch. I saw that also on a diagram I think went near the blue wire but however his car had a wire from the positive of the battery straight to that direction control switch. his original white red wire had a nick in it with some corrosion so I redid that red part and the endnon the white pigtail but not the white wire inside the box.

That is the reed switch. It stops the cart from moving when the charger is plugged in. Bypassing it is common. That wire needs pack volts for the cart to run. I would run the charger cord through the steering wheel so you don't drive off with the charger hooked to the cart

Just go with this, original isnt worth the hassle, for a part that will just fail again in the future.

It was such a problem, even ezgo themselves eventually ditched that idea.
