Default BigBattery 48v HSKY DEAD !!

Well, here we gooooooooooooooo!
The BB HSKY has been working without a hitch for a year now.
Until today, that is........

I pushed the power button and...........NUTTIN', HONEY.
The voltage doesn't even show on the meter on the battery.
I checked all my connections.........nuttin'.
I plugged in the charger, and, for 7 seconds, the Renogy meter shows 63% which is where it was when I parked it yesterday, then jumps to 100% !!!!
But, unplug it, things still show 100% til a load is applied, then....NUTTIN' HONEY. Darkness returns.....

I even took the Renogy shunt out of the picture............nope.

Gonna try charging for a while.

Now, just TRY to contact ANYONE at BB. NOBODY HOME !!
Its the Friday before a holiday, I think the plane is empty.......

Sooooooooooooo,, here I sit................not happy....

ed...I FINALLY spoke to Manny at BB. He said to remove it and package it.
They will send a FedEX label and have FE pick up when ready.........
I wondered what I would be doing this weekend.....

First he said I should bring it in........I said I am in South Mississippi (he is in Cal) He said.......gee. that's a long way!

So, we shall see.............

Did you by chance take a peek inside to see if anything was loose?
Keep us updated on customer service and how everything goes…
Myself I’m in Michigan and when I ordered mine originally coming all the way from California it got damaged and they took care of things right away.

I'm sorry to hear about that, Ronno. It has been doing so well for you.

Just curious about something. Does BB have a network of local dealers like EB does? You may be able to turn something around faster.

Nope. I haven't removed it as yet.
The relay doesn't click when I push the power button....
Only way to get a reaction is to plug the charger in....
I may pop the side cover just to take a peek....

Nope. No dealer network.
They are paying to FedEX it back so they can fix and return it....all at no charge (supposedly..)

Fortunately, I still have the original box and padding.....

Well, it's times like these that will make or break them in potential buyers eyes.

When you report it was turned around in a week or less at no charge, others with BB's will breathe a sigh of relief!

Good luck and keep us posted.

Well. my first mistake...almost..
I emailed them the packaging pics they requested...yesterday.
They WOULD have got burred in the avalanche of emails they receive, had I not anticipated to follow up on it in advance..........but I called.
And, of course the guy I talked to was out sick, so I had to go thru the situation...again.
But, I was told that all is being submitted to the service dept so that they would generate an RMA label.
Have not seen that yet.......
Like everything else these days, you have to stick your fingers up their nostrils to the second knuckle and lead them around by the nose to get things done..........

That sounds painful. Are you willing to go that far? I mean to the second knuckle!
