2001 CC DS Noise from motor or rear end
Thanks for the responses to my last post. Here is another problem/question. I changed the gear oil in the rear end and I am stil getting a rattling or grinding noise. Not %100 sure if it is the electric motor or something in the gear box.
What are the common sources of noise in that area? How much does a new motor cost approximately? Thanks. |

Re: 2001 CC DS Noise from motor or rear end
One of the most common causes is play between the motor shaft and the Axle input splined shaft that fits inside the motor shaft. There is a rubber bumper bushing that fits inside the motor shaft that tightens things up. Also check the motor rear bearing. The gears and motor are fairly robust and replacing the bearing and bumper bushing would only cost a few $. If that does not help then worry about outlaying big dollars.
