Default Jakes Spindle Lift Turning Radius

I recently installed on the 04 stretch a Jakes 6" spindle lift to go with their front disc brake kit(which is very nice btw!). This is actually my first Jakes spindle lift as I prefer the drop axles, but I had to have the front disc brakes. After the install I drove the cart down the road and attempted to make a U turn, which is when I noticed the radius is incredibly wide. In fact I thought something was broken in the front end and limped the cart back to the shop. There was nothing that appeared mechanically wrong with the front end. It turns equally left and right with no binding, only problem being the turning radius. I measured the angle the tires turn and it's 28* to each side which does not seem like much. I didn't get a chance to compare to another cart of similar year yet, but I had another brand spindle lift on this cart previously and it would make that U turn. What's going on should this be expected? If I had to make a sudden sharp turn, it won't happen.

Xtreme, on all the lifts ie, Jakes spindle your turning radius is reduced. Can not tell you why but it is.

One reason is the cart is wider, then the actual turning is reduced.

This is a safety feature from us. We do this because everyone is installing high speed motors and going faster. We cut the turning radius down because we do not want a younger inexperienced driver to turn too fast and too far and rolling the cart. Our #1 objective when designing a lift kit is safety! If you want it to turn sharper, you can at your own risk by grinding the backside of the axle which is the stop for your spindle.

Thanks for the tip Jake's. It needs all the turning radius it can get for maneuvering on city streets and off road. I'm glad there is a way to modify the turning. I'm very pleased with the hydraulic front disc brakes. They work nice!
