Default Need Help 1987 Ezgo resistor cart 36V won't run

Can't get cart to run (was running fine) with 4 ga wires all tight
I checked F&R switch and micro switches and speed control micro with parts from a cart that works
even pulled the motor to bench test it, it works fine
I didn't check solenoid cause my brother said it tested fine
when I put the meter on the big posts of solenoid it reads 16v when I check the working cart it shows around 38v ???? why the differnce
1) have I missed something
2) don't trust my brother
3) is the solenoid my problem

Thank you in advance
Matt

I was online looking for parts to my cart and noticed your problem posted. Mine did exactly the same thing.
It has a controller that goes from the accellerator that ends with a brass control that gets corroded and sometime you just have to remove it and shine it up. It works similiarly to a brush on a motor.

Mine was not going at all and I have found that when it gets dirty, you can sometime "STOMP'' on the accellerator and it gets a charge through it. It still needs to be cleaned but it will run fine for awhile.

I also found that you could get it rolling downhill (the first thing I tried) and hit the accellerator and it started going. No more problems until the following day. That's when I found the controller with burn spots on it.
Now, after you try this, I will check back on the board and see if you had any luck.

Stomp it good and hard, now.

OH, I almost forgot. Make sure the key is on and that you don't run into anything.

Problem turned out to be a bad connection, where cable is crimped at the lug hidden under the shrink wrap that is there to protect them. found two bad cables.
Cart runs fine Thanks again for all your help
