Default First oil change questions???

I have a 2006 EZGO with the 295...changing the oil for the first time. Question, I see a lifted cart, like mine, says fill with 1.5 qts of oil. Is it still the same if I lifted the cart on the pass side to pretty much drain all the oil out? Also, how tight do you tighten the oil filter bolts? It seems like they will keep turning...they are snug, but could keep going. Do they eventually tightened up, or is the o-ring in there smashing down enough to create a leak free seal? Thanks.

Cart should take 1.5 qts max. Little less is ok. Did you put a new filter in or just clean the old one? Extra O figs maybe? And do not over tighten those bolts. They only need inch pounds to seal.

I just cleaned the old filter, installed new o-ring. Ok, so after just under a touch of 1 1/2 qts of oil, it shows about in the middle of the hashes on the dipstick. That must be my new full mark. I'm guessing just snug up the oil filter bolts? I don't want to keep going, they don't seem to be tightening. Guess if it doesn't leak, I'm good!

Can anybody verify this before I go back at it tommorrow? Do the 3 bolts on the reuseable oil filter actually get tight? Don't really want to strip them out...obviously.

They will snug but it is an aluminum block. I normally pull them up until the plate seats then like a quarter to half a turn.
