Default "free" G16 with some issues

So I got a "free" G16 circa 1999 that has been sitting for the last 5 years.

I've got it to the point where it starts, runs, and drives.

Without the drive belt on the drive clutch and engine sound normal.

With the drive belt on the driven clutch sounds noisy.

I believe it is the brass bushing that the clutch rides on is bad?

How do you remove the clutch? Gear puller? I know the drive clutch uses a special tool to remove.

Also the king pins on the front axle are worn, I've ordered a kit to replace them. Any links to the procedure or the direction they should be removed?

Thanks.

I've got the bushing, what is the best way to tackle removing the driven clutch? Gear puller on the inner sheave (closest to the transmission) ?

greenskeeper, I wish I knew more about those so I could help you. I'm surprised some Yamaha people have not yet chimed in.

I will say this much: Be careful with anything like that. IDK about Yamaha, but some of those things have reverse threads on them.

There is a holder tool to contain the sliding sheave while the fixed sheave is popped off. The threads are not reversed. The 2 bolt holes on the outer ,fixed sheave are for attaching a puller tool that presses on the threaded portion to pop it loose.

done. about $0.70 worth of "supplies" lying around to fab up the removal tool. Driven clutch has been repaired.

last issue is the passenger side tire is "off" as far as alignment is concerned (camber). Looks like the front end took a hit on the steering box bracket as it has a fresh weld and the steering shaft isn't centered in the dash, as the dust cover won't fit properly. Maybe something to look at over the winter since I was able to adjust the toe correctly.
