Re: 2001 Yamaha G16 gas cart overcharging!
I tried to find out so what is the secret???
After I put my clone in my headlights would get brighter and go up and down. It never did that before. There is a wire to the ignitor I thought that may have something to do with it but never figured it out. I don't run at night very much so not a big priority, but I know its not reading the voltage properly. |

Re: 2001 Yamaha G16 gas cart overcharging!
I looked the wire from the VR to the ignitor is just a ground for the ignitor so that means nothing. But it did not brighten the head lights until I put the clone in, and all I did was unplug the ignitor/coil/pickup and tape them up. I ran my kill relay off the hot wire for the coil. Maybe I should check the VR wiring, maybe I disturbed something and its not getting a good connection. In fact I have two cloned G9 and they both do it.

Ok so I got the regulator in and hooked it up like yours and now I have no charging at all. I tried running the screw in with no luck. Any suggestions?

Try to see if you produce electricity when it is not connected at all. Be careful that the voltage can go high so do not start radio, etc... and be quick. Then check if it always sends a ground when connected. If I remember, it is the green cable but I am not sure... I can check tomorrow (it is night here), or someone else can confirm (or not)... *smile |
