Default G9 Gasser broken axle?

Hey Guys, newbie here. I picked up a g9 gasser that ran fine until I found out the frame behind the seat was bent in about 1". So, using the same theory I used on my old Honda Civic that had a bent rear unibody, I tied the back right of the cart where the bumper mounts to my old oak tree and went like hell . A couple of tugs and the frame measured back into specs. BUUUUUUUUUT, after the last tug, the cart spins the clutch on the engine and transmission, but cart does not move. I have jacked it up and checked the wheels. The passenger tire spins freely with no binding, but the drivers side tire is bound. It turns with effort but will not spin freely. Now my question is, in the opinion of the men and women on here that have way more experience with this than me, broken axle or something much more severe (broken gears). I know it is hard to tell without seeing the cart but just looking for some ways to tell which it is. Thanks all. Yes, you may comment on my choice of frame straightening.

I'd try to see if the brake locked up on that side first.

Right, might be brake is dragging. Check the shifter operation as well. I don't see why that would affect the trans, they are nearly bulletproof, but never know when they would go if they did.

Thanks for the help. The drivers side was binding because of the brakes. The passenger side axle is broken though. I am guessing that these are single drive rear setups, just driving the passenger side tire. The drivers side spins slowly without the passenger axle in. Do you know which rears in which carts will have the same size axle? I appreciate the help. Thank You.

Sho will know better than me, but any G2 thorugh early G14 will work. But you have to have the passenger side, as they are different lengths.

Just thinking, have you actually removed the axle? I would think it would be the spider gears broken, before axle. Again, Sho will know better than me.

And now I gotta say it; "You really punish the whole car by straightening the frame the way you did it. Whenever you put a huge shock/load on the drive train like that, you need to be off the throttle. But you learned something!!

I pulled the axle out and it broke right at the splines. I know that puts a lot of strain on things, pulling it the way i did. I must of kept the gas a little long on the last one. I was off it before it would yank on the other tugs. Oh well. At least it's straight now. Thanks again.

I never heard of such a thing, the ezgo have splined hubs that strip out but yamaha does not. The axles are very rarely a problem. You have 9hp on a belt and a tire on the other end, to remotely pressure the axle you would have to be on pavement and lift the tire, spin, drop the tire on the pavement at high (tire) speed WOT. With the open diff it can easily load the other tire it would have to have a lot of traction as well to put a strain on things. Everything breaks at some point, but very rare for this to happen.

I had a friend of sorts got hammered and backed into a tree and bent the whole rear of the cart down, a G2. Begged me to fix it next morning lol. Sure I chained the rear bumper to a tree and took off WOT about 20 times, whole cart flying up in the air while I bailed off lol. It was one of my funniest stories for a while. But it was a stock cart with 20" lawn tires on it, not lifted, and in the woods on leaves. I pull 18' boats with my clone WOT, heck people put 150hp ricer engines in carts with the stock rear and run dunes, long as they don't clutch the motor they hold up. The gears inside are wider than a car trans, though I don't know what material.
