New install on xct500 and admiral mot-a2
Just installed a xct500 with a admiral mot-a2 motor. Installed the proper field map as per alltrax now cart just hesitates to move. Cart did run for about 5min then motor just got really hot. Im afraid to cause any damage, any ideas? Program isssue?
Also, does the plug on the motor need to be hooked up as I dont recall anything in the instuctions? On my older dcx400 it was not plugged in Thanks |

The DCS does not need the motor pigtail connected.
Can you open the controller program and report what field map is shown on the bottom of the first page? |

Re: New install on xct500 and admiral mot-a2
I got it from alltrax, its RHMOT-A2-V6.
When i press the peddle fault code is 2 red (battery under voltage). I test pack voltage and its 53.07 under no load. Could it possibly be dead cell? Thanks |

Re: New install on xct500 and admiral mot-a2
Reconnect the speed sensor at the motor. If this cart was originally a PDS cart with a DCX upgrade, the speed sensor would not have been used. If the controller is looking for a speed sensor and its not there, you could have slow running issues and motor heating. If you are using the Toolkit with the USB cable, you can make sure that the speed sensor is selected and working. You can select the XCT to run in 'DCS' mode without the sensor as well, but you will have no control of top end speed and could over rev the motor.

Re: New install on xct500 and admiral mot-a2
I tried it both with or without the speed sensor plugged in. I originally installed the first dcx from the stock cart.
When I put the cart in either forward or reverse motor just shatters a bit then fault code comes up. Wonder if something happen to the motor when it got hot. Also noticed that charger doesn't shut off like it usually does (dpi charger) after a full charge. Almost like it thinks the batteries are not fully charged. |

OH - I see you had a DCX controller. I read that as a DCS cart.
Yes the speed sensor needs to be plugged in or like PingEye3 said deselect monitor speed or rpm also see that 8 pole magnet is selected if in rpm control mode. I hope this helps |

Re: New install on xct500 and admiral mot-a2
Still nothing. Could I have ruined the motor when it did run for the 10min that it did work by not having i pole selected? Motor did get real hot.
Fault code still says 2 red which says battery under voltage but Packs test at 53.07 under no load |

Re: New install on xct500 and admiral mot-a2
Did you try to reboot the controller? Power disconnect/reconnect.
Make sure your min voltage is not set real high. Just an idea but disconnect motor from the controller and see if flipping the run/tow clears the problem. If not you may have a controller problem and contacting Alltrax tomorrow while you are at the cart with the test meter would be the best option. |
