Re: 2002 TXT Tries to go, but...
[FONT="Century Gothic"]First we need to know what the battery pack voltage is now since you have charged it and it has sat awhile.
It seems like a low voltage supply condition to the controller which could be from a low pack or bad cable. You may have a bad battery in the pack. If you get 38.2 or near 38.0 then the pack is charged well. Just want to clear that up. Then with Tow/Run in the run position and key off check voltage from: B- on controller (neg) to pin 9 (logic B+) on the 10 pin DCX controller. B- on controller (neg) to pin 10 (B+ power) on the 10 pin DCX controller. These will be about .7v lower than pack voltage due to diode drop. This will confirm the controller is powered correctly. We can go from there is all of this is good. OK, so I went back to it today. The diode is installed with the silver band on the positive small terminal. Pack voltage is 37.9V. Key off, run/tow in run, B- to Pin 9 was 37.9V B- to pin 10 was 37.9V I reverified the diode was good. The ITS is now sending 10V to 6 V and the controller lights are now lighting in the proper sequence, 4 green flashes, then on solid green. However the wheels are only turning slowly....still. Thanks for any further suggestions. |

Re: 2002 TXT Tries to go, but...
This morning, while waking up, I realized that I had not heard the solenoid click yesterday, so I went to check that and take some additional readings.
The rear is jacked up and the pack voltage is 37.8VDC When I turned on the key switch and the tow/run the controller showed the proper light sequence but when I tried to go forward and reverse the wheels only turned slowly and the solenoid did not click. I took the following readings Key- off, Run/Tow in Tow Batt + to Pos side of solenoid 0V Batt + to Neg side of solenoid 2.1V Run/Tow to Run Batt + to Solenoid Neg 0V Batt - to Solenoid Neg 37.8V Run/Tow to Tow Batt - to Neg Solenoid 35.6V Anything jump out here? Re: 2002 TXT Tries to go, but...
So I took the new solenoid off the cart and compared it with the old one. All the readings were comparable. I connected the small terminals to 24VDC and both of the solenoids clicked.
The new 250 ohm resistor reads very low, 4.4 ohms. That is while it is off the solenoid, so I will get a new one. The diode is still good. One reading that confuses me is the resistance when reading between the large terminals. Both solenoids read nearly the same. The resistance reading initially was about 15K, then quickly rose to over 20K. Shouldn't the reading be open when the solenoid is not activated by the presence of voltage on the small terminals? Looking at the wiring diagram, are the main terminals connected by the metal case of the solenoid? That may explain the low resistance reading.

when the solenoid is not energized and those posts are bare there should not be any conductivity to anything. When it is energized it should drop to 0 between the two large posts.

Hi John
Can you put it back together and tell me what the battery pack voltage drops to when you try to drive the cart? I think your batteries are bad. |

Re: 2002 TXT Tries to go, but...
The solenoid is just a big relay. No power, no connection between the two big terminals. With power they should be 0 ohms or close.

Re: 2002 TXT Tries to go, but...
Hello all, dumbass here. Found out today that my multimeter was jacked up on the resistance. The solenoid is good. Putting it back together to see what I got.
