Default Re: Trojan T-875 battery cable routing

I would have reversed the first row batteries. Then placed the main pack + and - connections first row outer, then go from the inner connections of that row to the inner of the next row, then outer of that row to outer of the last row, then a short jumper inner to inner in that last row. Lessens the amount of inter-battery cable used a bit and lowers the amount of Kilowatt/Hours at the point of close proximity connections by 1/3rd. The main + and - cables look long enough for that configuration.

Sorry, it's just the engineer in me leaking out

Sorry, I was not watching this thread before. I've been trying to work out my own repower project. I bought a 6 X 8V aluminum battery tray to replace the plastic 4 X 12V battery tray in my old 2008 RXV Shuttle 2+2. I really wanted to go LiFePO4 but not seeing anything I like.

If you use that layout, you could reduce high current wire length, which reduces I*R losses in those wires. That delivers a bit more power to the motor, and a bit less power is lost in the high current wires.

Just make sure this bar does not rub on the cable.
Might have to rotate the cable a little.

Looks good. What size cable did you use and how are the ends attached? Crimped or soldered?

#2 cable, the ends are crimped, soldered and heat shrinked.
