Default going reverse in both forward and reverse

hello all,
i just recently installed a brand new alltrax 400 speed controller, and am having some issues.

the cart is going reverse when both the reverse and forward direction is selected.

when selector is in reverse solenoid clicks, then when i press the pedal i begin to reverse as it should.

neutral i hear the solenoid release

when selector is in forward solenoid clicks, then when i press the pedal i begin to reverse also.

any thoughts?

when i initially wired the controller, i had the blue and yellow wires flipped on the solenoid giving a under voltage fault. flipped those back and am now experiencing reverse only.

This is the initial install with this controller

Cart: ezgo pds
speed controller: brand new alltrax 400 w/ new upgraded solenoid

thanks in advance

Installing the diode in backwards will cause a short circuit when you press the gas. Forward is the default operation, when there is power to pin 4 the cart goes in reverse. It seems like you have power to pin 4 all the time. This could be a fault of the microswitch on the F&R or it could be an internal Controller problem. Try disconnecting the reverse ms and see if it still goes in reverse.

Pry the 10 pin molex connector up just enough to slide your test lead onto pin 4. Is power present? Is power present in all F&R positions. If yes inspect the 10 pin connector for any sign of damage which could cause power to reach pin 4?

I had a similar issue of always being in reverse after re-wiring my system,, it was the diodes, I installed them on the double jumper out of the orange wire and cleared it up

We started with that - initially the diode was installed backwards. Now we are trying to sort out the damage if any.

We've spent a good deal of time on this today and I think he may have defective PDS adapter -- a replacement is in the mail.
