You don't need a resistor on electronic ignition....

Did the HEI conversion. I used the oil style coil ran like crap. No power. Running very hot. Put oem coil on with hei and it ran normal. I returned the oil coil and got the one pictured. No one has ansered the question WHAT 2 TERMINAL DO YOU USE? It has 4. Need to know so i can hook up

Just a little note no ballast resistor needed on HEI 12 V direct ballast resistiors were used to reduce voltage to 9 V at the coil to save the points!!!! who needs points with HEI. You are not looking for a coil with a built in resistor a round type to look at would be a 1976 Dodge van. JUST A thought

on going enigma, which terminal is pos and which is neg. hope some one will find a solution before i die.

A friends 83 ezgo lost all spark. After researching this thread I am happy to say that this is a neat, easy, and inexpensive fix. Kudos to the ones that came up with this.
