Default easy wiring question ( I hope)

My batteries have been unwired for a long time and I am not sure how they go. There are two white wires that that I am not sure of . I thought they went to the positive but now I am not sure. The wires come from the dash.

The batterie meter is not working. Could it be that one went to a negative post.

I have replaced the old batteries with 3 12 volt marine batteries. I will only use the cart on a 2.5 acre lot at my garage so distance is no problem.

If I am correct, I don't know which of the white wires would go to a negative post. Also, would it matter which negative post it would go to.

I don't think 3-12 volt marine batteries are going to serve you well.

I understand that the hours of use is less but I am only using it on a 2.5 acre place I have and from what I see of that conversion, it works very well. Here is an example of one. An update. https://www.youtube.com/shorts/oeqsnV3pt3Q

I don't really know. I only know it is a 36 volt cart. It is a txt and I think a 1996. Thanks for responding.

Well a 96 should have the shifter by your leg. If it has a rod going to a rotating switch it is a series. If it has a silver puck with 2 micro switches it is a DCS. DCS will also have a run tow toggle switch on the controller cover.
