Re: Mixing Batteries
Not a good idea to under power a DC cart.

Re: Mixing Batteries
You can run lights off two of the 8 volt bats but they would still be connected to the pack, is that what you are asking. The accessories will not run off 6 volts and your cart is not gunnna like like 40 volts at all.
And Fishing Dude's comment was so off the wall I could not stop laughing. |

Re: Mixing Batteries
I don't think anyone has done it as it not practical. Your nominal voltage would be 46v and fully charged would be 48.8v (5x8.49+6.37) which on a 48v pack would only be 60% charged.(50.94v full charge) In addition the A/H ratings of 8 and 6 v are differant, typically 170 and 205, and its bad news to mix A/H ratings.and then your OBC will be confused and probably timeout at every charge, overcharging the 6v and lastly as the full charge on a 6 is less than the 10% charge of an 8, you would shorten the life of the 8's.

Re: Mixing Batteries
With any series battery pack, you MUST have all of the same battery capacities or you will trash them when you discharge and charge them in series. I would not even recommend replacing an old one with a new one of same capacity. Keep your battery pack made up of equal batteries (capacity and age)
