Leave it on the trailer and back up against something solid. Of course, trailer has to be hooked up to tow vehicle for this to be effective.

Depending where your at, if there are people around then most people won't mess with it in the daytime in fear of being caught. Now at night may be a different story. there is allot of stuff you can do to deter theft but no way to totally prevent it. Lock and chain, hidden kill switch, change key to a different type of key, ect.

You all must live or visit some rough neighborhoods because I can leave the keys in my cart and not once has someone tried to steal it.

I have never worried about someone stealing my carts but I have always used different ignition switches. Reading your guys posts now I am starting to worry a little. Wouldn't a thick cable lock through rims and around brushguard or even steering column do the trick?

I'm not worried about home, among other things it stays in the garage there. But this particular trip is to a rental/vacation house where we're likely to be gone a good bit of the time, not on the cart, and there is a sufficient amount of foot-traffic (much of which is innebriated) to give me pause. I'd rather not find out how much of my $8k cart the insurance pays out after some drunk redneck with a CC key in his pocket drives the thing into the inter-coastal.


For now, however, I seem to have avoided having to take the cart at all, which is preferable to me than taking it in the first place. But eventually I'll want to take it outside my safe little cocoon and I'll relax better knowing I have at least made an attempt to secure it when that day comes.

It's not the first time taxpayers got duped. Nobody is happy about it except the few free cart owners who actually got the credit. Interesting you feel the need to thumb your nose in everybody's face with it.
