Re: charging batteries
It's ok, but not great. No need to disconnect.

Re: charging batteries
You can charge your batteries individually, but will want to use the largest amp rated charger you can find, as golf cart batteries take quite a bit of amps to charge effectively.
For example, for a Trojan T-105 (a popular 6 volt battery at 225 amp-hrs), the recommended Bulk Charge interval (at constant current) is 22 to 29 amps. The recommended Absorption Charge interval (at constant voltage) is 2 to 7 amps. I have tried topping off single 6 volt batteries with a 1.1 Amp NOCO Smart Charger (the only 6 volt charger I own) and it barely tickles them ... it might take a week to just top them off from a slight discharge. The same batteries when connected in the pack, have no problems charging with my much higher rated 22 amp x 48 volt charger. So grab a large amp charger if you can ... otherwise it might take a week of Sundays to charge your 6 or 8 batteries individually. Let us know how you make out. You can't hurt the batteries by charging them individually, but it might take a lot of time depending on the amp rating of your 6 volt or 12 volt charger (not sure what voltage batteries you are using). Find attached a State of Charge chart for your reference so you can determine the percentage of charge on your batteries. |

Re: charging batteries
mine has 4 12 volt batteries and i have a 30 amp 12 volt charger. so that should be ok for now until i can order a 48 volt charger. i just want to make sure this cart is in working order befor i go trowing a bunch of money at it for upgrades and such.
