I am sorry for the delay, Due to the Holidays...
I am back at the cart and it is doing the same thing... The solinoid does click when pedal is pushed... Please let me know what to check for... Not sure what the pre resister is, Please verify this... Thank you, Ant... |

Motor failed the wheel spin test for continuity in one direction. Placed one wheel on the ground and spun the other while off the ground. Continuity at F posts passed in both directions. Same test at the A posts failed while spinning wheel in reverse but passed spinning it forward. Prior to that I test motor function by connecting a 12v to it and it ran continuously in REVERSE. Seems odd to me that it would run in reverse but failed the continuity test spinning one of the wheels in reverse. Oh and I installed new brushes. Thoughts?? Could an issue with my motor cause the fallout in power and solenoid opening taking power away seconds after pedal is pushed? Thanks! |

I am not experienced in these particular motors, but based on your description, I’d be looking at the condition of the commutator, and the brush springs / holders to make sure that everything there was making proper contact and nothing was worn or sticky.

Update….. Finally got this thing going. Motor had some continuity and grounding issues. Between fixing that and/or installing a rebuilt controller, I'm up and running. Note to others….don’t count out a motor issue. Dave Hicks was awesome in helping with this!!
