1995 Club Car Electric
Have a 1995 Club Car and need a wiring diagram. All other diagrams I see on the site have a potentiometer box and this cart does not have a pedal/level box. It is a 36v cart with no click at solenoid. Tried jumping the solenoid as I seen on another posting and got no results. Found brown broken wire outside of motor controller but did not fix the problem. Need diagram for this cart and advice on where to look next. Suspect it might be OBC problem since I am getting nothing but cart seemed to charge okay. Registers 50 volts so I assume this should be enough to get a response. Any help would be appreciated.

Hello Hoosier and Welcome to the forum.
Look through the stickies at the top of the page when you back out of this page. |

Re: 1995 Club Car Electric
This was the only diagram not shown in the stickies. Is there one more out there for a cart that doesn't have a potentiometer box?
Thanx. |

Re: 1995 Club Car Electric
Your cart has to have some sort of throttle input.(or it's a resistor cart) You are either overlooking it or someone took it off. There are NOT ANY diagrams on the net or a dealer that do not have a throttle input in them. (pot box or other types) In the PM you sent me you said it was a 48 volt cart. In this thread you say it's a 36 volt cart. Which is it?
If its a 36 volt cart and your reading 50 volts then something is wrong. |

Re: 1995 Club Car Electric
I think I know the problem he doesn't have a pie wedge but the box sits under the floor thinking on the pass side.
Have you checked the f-r contacts? |

Re: 1995 Club Car Electric
Apologize - it is a 48 volt cart. There is no little box on the frame d-side by batteries. I have completely disassembled the F/R and put back together. Is there a box under the cart? This cart has a motor controller but I am getting nothing at the solenoid, even when applying 48 volts to the solenoid??
Thanx for the suggestions |

Re: 1995 Club Car Electric
On some models the throttle box is under the cart yes. Passenger side.
Nothing at the solenoid even though your applying 48 volts? Then the solenoid is not activating or it is defective. Just because it clicks doesn't mean its good. I'm assuming you have a volt meter? |

Re: 1995 Club Car Electric
A little more testing information. If I test from the yellow on the solenoid to the battery negative, I get approx 1-2 volts. If I test from the front of the front red/blk-wht wire on solenoid to battery positive, I get 48 volts +. Does this narrow my problem down to a computer problem or another challenge. I seem to be getting 48+ across the large posts.
Thanks for the great help from everyone. |

Re: 1995 Club Car Electric
Your assuming that because its not working that it must not be getting power. Some carts I believe have power to the solenoid but the ground side of the relay is controlled by key/microswitches/etc.. Im not saying this is what you have...but consider it...check and make sure that the power isnt already there but no ground control for the solenoid, if this is the case you can jump 48V to solenoid all you want but if there's no ground control then the solenoid will not activate.

Re: 1995 Club Car Electric
Okay guys, need a little more assistance to put this one to rest. Is there a good test for the motor controller to see if it is working and is there a test that can performed on the pot box to ensure it is sending voltage through?
I appreciate all of the help with the challenge. Thanx. |
