Wiring questions
First question, the green wire coming out of the fwd/rev switch. Does it matter if it attaches to the positive or the negative pole of the 3rd battery? Since the positive of one battery is connected to the negative of the next battery?
Second question, how does the reverse buzzer know if you are in reverse? If the microswitch is only off and on? Just wondering! Also I replaced the solenoid and when I step on the gas pedal I get power to the white wire from the solenoid to the v-glide but the cart still doesn't move. Any ideas before I pull apart the v-glide? |

2: That is exactly how it "knows" to come on. 3: Does the solenoid click? |

Re: Wiring questions
Thanks for the reply, will do on the green wire.
If the microswitch is only on and off how does it know between fwd and rev. And yes the solenoid clicks, a solid and loud click and power is measured on the outgoing pole after the click. |

Re: Wiring questions
Pull apart the v Glide and see what's going on in there.

Re: Wiring questions
Assuming you have not changed any wiring incorrectly, and since the Solenoid is working, the only possibility in that cart is for the wiper arm inside the VGlide to be completely melted or broken.
The cart when at full throttle would by-pass all of the resistors and contact pads in between and to run the power from the Solenoid straight to the motor. Since you were curious about how the reverse buzzer works in your cart, it has nothing to do with the micro-switch. The reverse buzzer positive power is directly connected to +36v. The reverse buzzer negative power is connected to the FNR swivel post that goes to the Solenoid. When in Forward, that swivel post is connected to +36v and therefore there is no voltage differential between the buzzer power connections for it to work. When you put the FNR in Reverse, that swivel post is connected to Motor S1 terminal which has less than 1Ω resistance (stator winding resistance) to the pack negative battery post. You now have approximately pack voltage across the buzzer and it sounds. |

Re: Wiring questions
Thanks for the info, I will double check all the wiring the check out the v-glide.
On the reverse buzzer, again thanks, I was just curious because I couldn't follow it on the wiring diagram in any way that made sense. |

Re: Wiring questions
And I don't think I stepped on the throttle to full power when I was checking.

Re: Wiring questions
It looks like the Club Car engineers in that model decided to get a little clever, or perhaps too cheap to modify the FNR with extra lobes and micro-switches like the later versions with controllers.
FRATT70, make sure You keep one of the rear wheels raised off the ground during tests. |
