Tin cover over the cylinder head of a 2PG ???
the cause of my engine issue I think was a mouse nest inside the cover over the cylinder head causing it to over heat, what is the purpose of it and do I need to put in back on?

Re: Tin cover over the cylinder head of a 2PG ???
Yes you need it. It is used to direct airflow from the fan through all the cooling fins in the engine to keep it cool. If you remove it, you’ll disrupt the cooling fan airflow and can run into overheating issues that way
If you had a nest inside the top part I’d recommend taking the rest of the tins off as well and make sure it’s clean everywhere else. |

Re: Tin cover over the cylinder head of a 2PG ???
Ok thank you,
I am rebuilding the engine, it is missing one of the triangular shaped pieces/cover so I think that is how they got in. I will see if I can find that piece or make something to go in that space. |
