Default Dpi accusense battery chargers

I have a ezgo txt pds that I recently upgraded to 42v by adding 1 6v trojan battery and was wondering if it was ok to change the charge mode from 2 to 1 ? I read somewhere on here that they do this once a month for an equalization on their batteries. Will this hurt anything?

That won't hurt anything, an easier way to equalize is to restart the charge cycle after it is done charging. A back to back charge will do a good job of equalizing the cells.
