charger - puff of smoke
Just got another junker cart. An old Yamaha. The old owner said he had it for 2 months and all was fine until one day the charger went up in a puff of smoke. I lifted the seat and saw 4ea 6V batteries and 2ea 12V batteries.
Does anyone know if hooking a 36V charger to to a 48V bank might have been what smoked it? |

I just had a thought! Possibly the two 12V batts were in parallel with each other in the circuit. Then the total would be 36V. In that case the charger just succumbed to old age! |

Re: charger - puff of smoke
They were connected in series and he said the cart was fast as heck. I told him I suppose so.
