You may want to check all the battery cables, motor and all. If one is a little loose that will cause jerking.

Was it normal for all the golf carts that there are free wheeling on the rear wheels?

Yes it is normal that the wheels turn in the opposite direction... And there is a little play in them

After searching, I think I will need to replace the MCOR. Still having a jerking when pressing the accellator pedal. My model year is 1997 - Serial #A9716-568240.

Can anyone help where can I locate this MCOR?

If you have the MCOR 1, which you probably do, it really needs to be upgraded.
MCOR versions 1,2 and 3 all had their quirks. MCOR 4 is the most reliable version. Dave @ Revolution is a site sponsor. He'll direct you to the MCOR to MCOR 4 upgrade kit. He did for me and I haven't had a problem since.

MCOR 4 will not work without a conversion kit.
MCOR 2 is still made and is plug and play.
According to Dave @ Revolution in the thread linked below, the MCOR is no better or worse than the MCOR 4.
