500A Intermittent (5min)
900A Cranking/burst (30sec)

I'm running a 48v cart - on a 500A alltrax (currently on stock motor so alltrax is set to max 400A)
what if you used this between the controller and motor and hid it in the rear end above the motor? That wouldn't inhibit charging, would it?

I was wondering this myself.

The hidden magnet/reed switch is a cool idea as well.

Where could I put a remote cut-off switch to disable the cart but still charge? Not the key switch - I already have a unique key but that’s easily bypassed.
No dumb questions ... best to ask and understand

With a switch coming off of the batter pack POSITIVE, you would still wire your charger connections to the battery pack POSITIVE and battery pack NEGATIVE. The charger connection would not be switched and would function any time you connected your charger.

Right but my plan was to put a marine grade hidden switch on the main 2ga cable.

They used to be popular as antitheft devices in cars. Essentially it was a switch that was activated by a magnet. The switch (wired to ignition) would be hidden in the dash or console somewhere and you'd take your magnet which was affixed to your keychain and place it against the spot where the switch was hidden to activate. I guess you could say it was the forerunner to the FOB in a sense.

The battery charger and 2 gauge switch would be wired in PARALLEL, so it is two totally independent circuits. Opening or closing the switch would NOT affect the operation of the battery charger. If you wired them in SERIES, then yes, the switch would also control the battery charger circuit (when it was attached).

I guess then I don’t need a huge heavy duty switch. I was originally thinking of putting it next in line to the battery post.
