Re: slow cart today
Here is another test (although I am not sure of exactly your series conversion, but if it is a typical series controller, these will help you)
Take the yellow wire off pin 3 on your controller and with the cart jacked up, in forward, and key on, check the voltage from pedal up to pedal down and it should go from 0vdc to 5vdc gradually changing. You can also measure what the controller is putting out to the motor between the M- on the controller and the B-. The voltage should be about 48vdc (or pack voltage) when the pedal is pushed just enough to engage the solenoid and then decreasing to 0vdc when the pedal is pushed all the way to the floor. If it is erratic or drops a few volts then will not go any further OR jumps back to 48vdc, you have a blown resistor in the back side of the potentiometer. (If it only drops to ~24vdc, you have it on 1/2 speed which is for reverse.) |

Re: slow cart today
ok so I have discovered resistors in vglide went bad and have to replace the vglide, I was curious if there was a more efficient product I could use since I have to replace it

Re: slow cart today
There is an MCOR 4 conversion you can do that will bring it up to todays current technology, but, those resistors are completely replaceable. I have replaced dozens of them....

Re: slow cart today
You could put a PB-6 box in it.

Re: slow cart today
Any on-line electronics depot like Mouser, MSC, etc. I actually go to Radio Shack and pick them up. You can replace everyone of them for ~$10-$12 and it is sooooo very simple.... If you do not know the color calculations, you just buy the same banded colors you have now and replace them. I do tinker with mine some just to change the feel of the throttle. (I am guilty of being the one who ALWAYS thinks I can make a "rounder" wheel...)
And truthfully, if I ever had to replace a V-glide, it would only be with an MCOR. For that expense, I want the newest (smoothest) technology. |
