Re: FSIP torque motor came today
No, not all. Each manufacturer is designed what they feel is best for there unit. PQ's you can have vented or non-vented. I have had OEM motors that are vented and some that are not. None of the them are designed to be ran under water, but they will take normal environment moisture.

Re: FSIP torque motor came today
Golf cart motors are not sealed, and generally not submersible.

Don't feel shunted. That is a very good motor and will yield you good results. That would have been my next pick after a Plum Quick.

Re: FSIP torque motor came today
It will take 22” to fully submerge it I highly doubt it will se that depth of water. Maybe if the nephews have it I think it’s all good.

Re: FSIP torque motor came today
I like those FSIP motors and I am planning to use a speed version with XCT400 in the future.
Torque specs on that motor look good. You should like it well with the easy access brush ports. |

Re: FSIP torque motor came today
We have very good luck with these motors. I was skeptical as first. But from what we see and what Alltrax Engineering gave us in the review and mapping research the quality is higher than Admiral & about equal to D&D and PQ.

Re: FSIP torque motor came today
When mounted horizontally, like in our buggies, unvented motors can fail much sooner than vented. One function of the vents is to expel “brush dust” which can build up on the bottom of the case and create an unwanted current path. I worked as a development engineer for a medical company and we were experiencing premature motor failure on portable x-ray machine drive systems and we discovered this issue. Switched to vented motors....problem solved. HTH
