I think the OP is referring to an OBDII reader for automobiles which is sometimes used an nomenclature for a vehicle scan tool.

If he installed the control and then it blew when HE tried it, he shouldn't charge you for that controller! I've had to eat a few controls because of similar mistake. It's his responsibility to test the motor to make sure that isn't what caused the control to blow in the first place. That is why I try to only install Alltrax controls, because they have short protection built in the control. If the motor has a short, it will flash a code and protect the controller.
