Default Did he blow the controller?

Hello, I have a friend that has a 2010 Precedent and while doing a major cleaning, he accidentally got a cleaning tool across these two lugs (see picture) momentarily and now his cart will not go.

After going through some trouble shooting threads here, I am afraid that he may have damaged his controller. We have checked the 15A fuse located close to the controller and it is good. We have verified that the contactor (solenoid) is “clicking” and we have power output through the contacts. If it is in reverse, the backup beeper works.

Is there anything else that might cause a complete no movement out of the cart? Any additional checks that we might try? If it is the controller, can they be repaired? Thanks in advance for any ideas.

That is a common situation on tose… Someone will correct me if I’m wrong but I think it’s a dead controller now.

For future reference. Tell your friend to make sure to unhook the battery negative and positive before working/cleaning around electrical connections. Any time the access panel is off, the cart should be in Tow mode and batteries should be unhooked.

He’s let genie out of the bottle. There are some places that repair controllers but the cost is usually about as much as a new Alltrax.

OK, thanks for the reply. He thinks he has found a source for repairing the controller, I will update as I know more. John

PS Does anyone know what this device is?

It is a fuse. Its exact purpose I'm not sure, but I do know it is Not for the charge receptacle.

Yes that 1515 is toast or at least in my experience. your friend is not the first and I have earned a good honest living fixing goof-up like this.

Update - My bud pulled his controller out and sent it to a vendor we found online. It cost him $15 to ship it to the vendor, less than 48 hours to repair and sent it back to him. Including return shipping it cost him $180 with a 1-year warranty. We put it back in and it worked great the first time. We were all relieved that this did not involve the purchase of a new controller. Thanks for the feed back and suggestions.
