Frank another option is just going full tilt and replace the motor also going to a sepex drive system instead of a series. Would get you low 20s on stock tires. You would have to start over pretty much with wiring but not too complicated and no more troublesome fnr switch. Just a thought.

Thanks for the suggestions. My goal is to make a 94 Medalist Survivor the most optimal unit possible, while keeping originality and cost top of mind.
And a little speed too...

Welcome to the habit Frank!
I upgraded my 94 Medalist going on 2 years now and could not be happier (I use my cart mainly for golfing)
One suggestion I would strongly encourage is going with a reversing contactor vs a HD F&R switch. It is a bit more expensive but well worth the investment.
Whatever path you choose, enjoy!

So I ordered from Scotty the following:
1. SR48500 Controller
2. 400 Solenoid
3. 2G Cables (longer for 48V swap, when 36v batteries die)
4. HD F/R

I should be getting shortly.
Does anybody have any install tips/tricks and things to avoid?
Perhaps a link to a thread?

Also, prior to the equipment arrival, is their any items I should pick up from ACE hardware that I may need for install? Wires, bolts, fittings, etc? Special tools outside the norm.
Want to prepared and ready to go!
Thx

Scotty pretty much sends you everything you need to make the switch

And here’s an install tip... don’t be scared to read the directions
I think I may have installed mine upside down but I think it works just as well either way

Let me know how it performed. I got a 2006 I want to do the same thing to. Just wondering about the total cost to upgrade to a 48 volt system and still use my same motor ? I got the cart with no batteries in it, also I have no charger. Great body but the cart has been sitting outside for two years. Cleaned up nice so right now I am just waiting to see how much total I would have in it not counting what I paid for it.

Ok all-installed all the parts and everything went together rather nicely.

BUT-problem. When I went to drive the cart, I hear a 'click' and nothing really happens (maybe a foot or two slow movement forward). In reverse, I get the reverse high pitch sound, but again maybe a foot or two backwards

Could this be a battery issue? I checked all 6 , and four were in the 6.3 to 6.7 range. The others were at 5 and 5.3.

Also, when I press the pedal my meter drops from 37(ish) to about 30.

Question is will the cart operate at that low a level? I assumed it would as it still has juice. If not, I guess im going to the 48V batteries quicker than I though (budget wasnt ready for that yet....LOL)

Thoughts?
