Default Custom parts vs OEM Club Car?

My brother and I just picked up a flooded out 2011 Precedent, stripped it down to the frame, got everything cleaned up.
We are now going back up with it as we troubleshoot along the way.
After installing a new MCOR 4 conversion kit we’ve had no luck getting it going. So now I’m trying to decide which route to go back together with it...Club Car parts or aftermarket?

We have "all" parts that came off but are unsure what works and doesn’t. According to the previous owner, the cart has a new motor, OBC, solenoid and batteries but he still couldn’t get it to run. He told us it needs a new controller and wiring harness. I can confirm all 6 batteries are less than a year old and all are in good condition, taking and holding a charge with the stock charger via the OBC. Also, can confirm it has a new MCOR 4 conversion kit which we installed.

Here’s were I’m going to end up:

Lifted cart with rear seat, all the bells and whistles, capable of keeping up with the speed of traffic along the beach (25Mph) I don’t care how long it takes to get to that speed, hills aren’t an issue and the cart will have ~ 1,000 lbs of passengers/payload at most times.

I’m not a “straddle the fence” kind of guy, I want to get this thing up and running as cheap as possible. If that isn’t an option, I don’t mind spending the money and replacing every electrical part on the cart with upgraded hardware but I don’t want to end up in that “gray area” where I’ve spent a good bit of money and it runs OK!

My brother and I are mechanically inclined and will be doing all the work ourselves but we are just not familiar with electric carts (this is our first) so we are looking for recommendations from people who’ve been there and may have suggestions of used cheap parts to start changing out 1 at a time to troubleshoot or retailers that have a “package deal” to replace everything on this sucker and get it rolling!

Once the cart is up and running, I will be purchasing all the bells and whistles, lift kit, wheels, body kit, radio dashboard.

Any help is appreciated

Fresh or salt water? Have you tested the motor?

The controller isn't water proof from what I read. I suggest you start with a new Alltrax 500a controller. You will need it to get the 25 mph and haul 1000 lbs. Be sure to have your motor tested before you connect the new controller.

Fresh
Not tested the motor yet. When you say test, you mean just supply power directly or have it tested with a diagnostic tool?

Direct power. 12-24 volts rear jacked up.

Assuming the motor test good and I get the Alltrax, what if I’m not happy with the performance with current motor, am I limited because of that controller or can I get an upgraded motor that will also be compatible with the Alltrax?
Any benefits to buying a motor and controller that are matched?

The controller is programmable to any motor you want. And it's field programmable, you can do it yourself.

In case your're wondering how to wire the motor to test it, here's a picture. It shows 3 6v's but you can use 2 8v's or one 12
