Default New cart to me ... S....L....O.....W...

I have a 02 club car ds( from what previous owner told me), lifted, new batteries, wires, paint etc., but it is slow barely makes it up a hill... i have a motor # 101772801 , i was thinking speed sensor bad but i do not see on this motor a sensor cap, was going to try a magnetic but i guess it goes under the speed sensor... my question(s):
Which motor do i have , i think agm? Where is the magnetic/sensor? I see where there are 2 sets of wires bolted to the motor . Any other helpful suggestions on speed, tired of the hova rounds passing me .. Thanks

to BGW!

36 or 48 volt? Series or Sepex?

Click on "Site Sponsors" and go to REVOLUTION GOLF CARS. Go to the electric section and find out what system you have.

You have a resistor cart/series motor. There is no speed magnet.

Welcome!!! Where in Florida are you? Lots of great threads here, use the search feature for some ideas. 48v is easier to upgrade than 36v, but there are plenty of quick 36v carts out there.

Here's what you have: That cart was designed for 2 people with 2 sets of clubs to run around 12 mph on a golf course.

The 36v resistor setup you have is inherently slow. When you add a lift kit, bigger tires, rear seat etc. it makes the cart even more sluggish. This is not because it is a Club Car, but any brand cart.

Any serious upgrade will begin with going to 48v. This means solid state controller, motor, (although you can run yours at 48v) throttle, batteries, charger, wiring, solenoid etc. will have to be changed out.

Located in Ocala Fl. I was hoping it would be a simple upgrade but seems as not the case. Would swapping 36v for 48v batteries increase the speed? Or am i destined to be out dragged by the hova rounds?

You could. I do not recommend it.

Batteries, charger, and solenoid will cost you well over $1000.

Some have done it and perhaps they will chime in. I don't think the v Glide system and coils will hold up well.

Your serial number will confirm the date, as well, if you're not sure. Post it up.
