Default Tow/Run Switch not working & Low Battery Indicator Question

I’m rebuilding my first golf cart (2011 CCP) and am in the process of putting everything back together from a Navitas AC motor/controller install and OBC bypass (among other things) and I need some help from the experts here.

First issue is I somehow bypassed the tow/run switch. When I hook up battery leads or 48V>12V reducer to the negative battery lead it sparks and I get a 48v reading from my multimeter regardless of the switch being in “Run” or “Tow”. Does anyone know what I may have done to cause this or where I should look?

Second question is about the low battery indicator. What tells the light to come on? Is it the OBC? Or does the indicator have its own built in meter? I’m getting a new dash and trying to determine if it’s worth keeping the indicator light since I’ve also added a 48V digital meter and I’ll be able to monitor voltage through the Navitas app.

Thanks for any help you can give me.

The switch has failed, not bypassed. Replace it.

Toss the light in the new dash, it was triggered by the OBC.

Thanks for the reply. I’ve ordered a new tow/run switch. Hopefully that solves it.
I think I’m going to leave the indicator light out since I’ve bypassed the OBC.

Tape up the wires. One was hot all the time, the other received the negative from the OBC.
