Start by checking any/all fuses.

Cheers
Pat.

I'd look at it the same way that I'm looking at repairing the turntable motor in my 20 year old microwave, if I can get one of the $10. replacement chineasium motors to fit, then fine, I'll repair it, but if the $85. "factory replacement" (Korean lol ) is the only one I can get, then I'll replace the whole microwave

I'll spend $10-15 bucks, but I'm not spending $100 to patch a 20 year old microwave...

After careful inspection I cannot locate a fuse but did find a wire off, after attaching I now have 25.1 volts, meter still not working. Any suggestions ? I did check to see if any volts going to meter and it showed zero

Ok Bunchy, you need to be more specific with your descriptions. Electronics repair is quite complex and without accurate descriptions of what is going on and what you find I cannot help you effectively.

Where did you measure 25.1v? Was it AC or DC? Where are you getting zero volts? Which wire did you find disconnected and where did you connect it to? Etc.

Photos will help greatly in helping you analyse your problem. Do you know how to attach photos? If you do, can you please attach a photo of the insides of the charger as I have never seen the charger you have. Also a photo of the spec plate or sticker would help.

Since it’s from 1983, I’m assuming you have a very simply charger that is based on a transformer with some type of rectifier and linear circuit after it, not a switch mode one. 25.1v is close, but a bit low for the AC output of the transformer before it is rectified and filtered. Is that where you’re measuring 25.1v?

Pat.

The 25.1 DC volts measured where charger plugs into cart. The wire that was unplugged was a copper non covered wire running from transformer to front cover, only one place for it to plug in. The zero volts were check the meter also on front cover. Do not know how to attach pictures but will try to figure it out and post. Will try to find speck plate.
Thank you
