The floor wasn't in too bad of shape

Just make a new one seems to be the theme here, spray it with bed liner

Loaded up the frame, still a roller. Headed to the powder coater. He quoted me a price of $500 for blast and black, or $1000 for blast, fill and black. decided to blast it myself. Didn't want to get too deep into this project, money wise.

It only took 5 bags of fine to clean her up. Bought 10 bags, so there is a little left over for another project.

When we build boats we use Por 15 on the steel in the engine beds. Stuff is hard as a rock when dry. It is not cheap, $45 quart but it covers well. Used a brush to paint it. I first tried to thin the Por with the recommended thinner and spray it....what a friggin mess....so just decided to use a brush.
Note to anyone...wear throw away clothes, gloves and shower cap when painting Por15. Once it dries, it will only wear off the skin...10-14 days. don't need to ask how I know this, just trust me

the linkages under the frame were so rusted Krol would not even help.

Made up a solution of Muriatic acid and water 50-50 and let them soak overnight. took the linkages out of the mix and then soaked them in a solution of baking soda and water to neutralize the acid. Dry....prime...paint....like new again

The tins need a little attention next. I'll call them tins since they are metal. The seat wrap assembly needed the most work. It had holes in it from the battery acid so I cut it in half and made a new bottom. Little welding, bondo, and good to go
Tony and I painted a 61' sportfisher last year and we had enough paint left over to shoot the ole 84. In case you didn't notice we used a $15.99 Harbor Freight gun to shoot the primer and paint.

After letting the paint dry overnight we sprayed the inside of the tins with bedliner
This product can be tinted to any color you want. I almost sprayed the entire cart with it, but since the body cleaned up so nice I decided to just spray the underside black.

When I took the ole 84 down there was a black plastic cover over the ball holder. Does anyone know where I can find one? I have no idea where the original one went

The new floor didn't turn out too bad. Painted the side handles and the steering column black.
Used Krylon to paint the steering wheel.

Hey man, that looks good. What a labor of love this cart is getting. Sorry, I can't help on the ball holder cover. Are you sure it wasn't something custom?

I could not answer that. I looked factory. Have torn every inch of the garage apart looking for it. It will surface when it's finished...never fails..
