Re: 12v accessory battery
A fuse does not protect from over heating, it just cuts the power in the case of a short. There are thermal fuses that will detect temperature,or over temperature, but that is not what your trying to do here.

Re: 12v accessory battery
Nothing wrong with using a breaker panel instead if you want to get fancy

Re: 12v accessory battery
Easy way to ck is to goggle the power requirements of the equipment you will be running. If your phone uses 3amps and a radio draws 10, then you will have to use the larger size or you will constantly blow fuses. In this example you will have to ensure that the charger you are using is equipped with the proper size fuse (these are typically in the part of the charger that plugs into the cig lighter). Hope that helps.

Re: 12v accessory battery
I'll throw this in, Wattage/Voltage=Amperage
So a 55W bulb at 12V pulls 4.58 amps... |

Re: 12v accessory battery
Reminds me of the story of the guy with an old jeep out hunting and blew a glass fuse and used a 22 cal short bullet for a quick fix lol . - Mayor
