Banging sound in Rear End
I have an early 80's Marathon. When I lift off the accelerator there is a banging noise from the rear end. Sounds like it is the bearings from the outside hub. Are these easy to change?? Anybody else had this problem??

Re: Banging sound in Rear End
Not sure but are there leaf springs? Are there bushings? I thought my hubs or bearings were going but it was the spring slapping whenever I step on or of the accelerator. I have no experience with that old of a cart.... Not sure.

Does it do that even at slow speeds? Maybe someone can drive and you can hang your head out of the front seat, and maybe the bagwell, and try to at least narrow down whether it's one side, both sides, or the differential.

Re: Banging sound in Rear End
I just put new heavy duty leaf springs on it last summer and that did eliminate a banging noise. I will have to do some more listening I guess.

In the rear though?
I asked the sheriff how to get out of a ticket and he said show a little cleavage but I'm not sure that's going to work for me |
