48V Series disapointing
I got a series cart for a few hundred bucks that had its electronics fried and no batteries. I decided to go with the alltrax SPM 48400 EZ and upgraded to 48V with scotty B's reversing contactor. I just got it all together and was kinda disappointed in the performance. I could only get 18mph out of it with 23" tires

Re: 48V Series disapointing
I guess i was thinking it would be faster that my stock pds with 23's on 36V. I also have a DCS that is getting upgraded to 48V with a dcx400 amp controller. what should i expect out of that. If its not fast enough i will just have to upgrade the motor on the DCS. Im selling the series so thats not to big of a deal for me

Re: 48V Series disapointing
Agree with knothead. My DCS cart on new 48v batteries is fast! Faster than I want to go with more than myself on the cart. Worth every penny invested!

Re: 48V Series disapointing
chris, I too have a series cart. I am running the SPM 485000/SD Solenoid/HD F&R/2 ga. cables.....and I am still running 36v......on 23" tires. and run 27 MPH all day long. the difference is I put in an AMD 7126 RAPTOR motor. so all you really need to do with you set-up is get yourself a high speed motor. especially seeing as if I were to jump to 48 v.... the speed would increase to around 32 to 34 mph. Just a thought

Re: 48V Series disapointing
Mine (sig) is scary fast. I have stock tires but speed motor. Try bigger tires or faster motor. A series 400 - 500 amp is way faster than the steering can handle.
