You have to set these carts up to perform with their heaviest work load. Then accept what speed you get.
If you set them up for speed and then add a bunch of weight and hills one day a year - then that's the day it will fail.
Torque and speed are in constant trade off. Basically, the faster the motor is capable of spinning the less torque it can produce.
Custom engineered motors can provide a good blend of torque and speed.

There's a GE equivalent as well. Same specs. I think I got my AMD from East Coast Carts.

Just a thought
I think you might have been ripped off on that motor. I have the stock motor in mine and it runs 27 the first test run on flat ground! No motor upgrade for me as long as this one holds together

well chris.........I wasn't ripped off......YOU are running 48v........I'm only running 36v.....had I bumped up to 48v.....I would be running 35 mph. and what happened to what you posted in the OP? you stated you could only get 18 mph......NOW on your FIRST test run its up to 27? or are you talking about your DCS cart......then you are talking apples and oranges. you can't compare the two.

sorry, i didnt mean that you got ripped off, And i thought you were talking about your cart was a dcs. So your cart is a series with the raptor motor then? My dcs goes 27 and the series only goes 19 with pretty much the same upgrade. both 400amp alltrax controllers (SPM - Series / DCX - DCS) and 48V upgrade.

(NEVERMIND I SEE WHERE YOU WROTE THAT IN YOUR FIRST COMMENT)

Thanks, and yes, my cart is a series cart with the AMD 7126 RAPTOR motor (everything is listed in my SIG).....a lot of people get their carts with the idea of upgrading them and making them go faster, not realizing that a series cart is only going to get faster in one of 3 ways. 1. up the voltage, 2. a gear change, 3. a high speed motor. and when they spend the money for all the drive system upgrades and don't do any of the 3 things listed above, they become very disappointed. but the fact that you did upgrade the voltage up to 48v and running bigger tires, and have achieved 19 mph is right on track of what you should have expected. NOW, if you drop in the motor I have in mine.....and your running the 23" tires.....you will be out running your DCS cart with no problem. you should see a speed increase of between 33 to 35 mph. Quite a jump from 19.
