03 Carryall 2 belt/clutch problem
Replace the belt on this cart and it has kind of a grinding sound near the driven clutch, and it looks like one side of the belt is wearing fast. Motor side. Can't tell if it is slipping or not. I don't know much about gassers, I usually work on electric carts. What could cause this? Driven clutch spring worn?

Re: 03 Carryall 2 belt/clutch problem
The belt was tight going on, and don't have much or any slack. Could that be the problem?

Re: 03 Carryall 2 belt/clutch problem
Sounds like the belt is too short, call "Cart Parts Plus" and get the correct belt

Re: 03 Carryall 2 belt/clutch problem
It's loose enough that the drive clutch spins free at idle. I think the driven clutch may be slipping. I think that may be the grinding type sound I'm hearing. Would that be the spring in the driven clutch weak?

Re: 03 Carryall 2 belt/clutch problem
Anyone? Could the tension spring in the driven clutch cause the belt to slip? Any way to check it? I don't want to keep throwing belts at it if there is an underlying issue. I'm an electric cart guy and know very little about these carts.

Re: 03 Carryall 2 belt/clutch problem
I wouldn't recommend wd40 if you use anything at all use a dry lithium spray wd40 or anything else that doesn't dry collects dust and makes things worse sooner than later
