Battery terminal corrosion

If it wasn't for adding water and maintaining corroded cables and other corrosion problems electric golf carts would be almost perfect vehicles. I know that sealed lead acid batteries (agm type) don't have the corrosion problem but they are just too expensive by a huge factor. Here's my point...Why don't they make the golf cart batteries vented like conventional lead acid motorcycle batteries? They use sealed caps and a vent tube from the battery case that runs out and away from anything that corrodes. They could do this I'm sure but it isn't what everyone is used to so I'm sure the liability would prevent mfgs from attempting this small change. Yea, I know you're looking at 6 vent tubes but I would love it to get rid of the huge corrosion problem that inevitably happens.

Not all "sealed" batteries are AGM....There a gels as well, and cheaper than the AGMs....

Doesn't answer the "vent" issue, but I thought I'd throw it out there....
