Default Power drive 2 charger has quit working?

Out of the blue, the battery charger buzzes for approx 5 seconds and clicks off....reset CB and same result

This is at the end of the day and with no prior issues..Batteries are at 49V due to very little usage. Both male and femal ends are intact,no bare or corroded wires and I could find no fuse anywhere along the wires up to where they disappear into the ECU.

Precedent is 2009 model. charger appears that old..not abused and everything has worked fine since we bought it 3-4 mos ago

any help appreciated

I had a DPI charger that was doing that, turned out to be the rectifier. Mine would trip the breaker even when not plugged into the cart.

If you are comfortable messing around inside the charger, disconnect the two wires from the transformer to the rectifier and secure them so they do not touch each other, or anything else. Turn charger on, if breaker does NOT trip, replace the rectifier.

This rectifier fixed mine.

Probably the rectifier. Those were a problem and they updated the design to a higher amp version that lasts longer. There was also at one point an update kit to replace the rectifier with a much larger diode assembly.
Talk to David Hicks at Revolution Golf Cars and get a good quality rectifier, not one of the cheapos from the jungle store. Also would be a good idea to replace the circuit breaker since those can weaken with age or after they've been tripped a few times.
