Default ICON i20 magnetic brake issue

Having an issue with a new 2021 icon i20. Magnetic brake is a problem. Car drives and stops normally. However, when stopped on an incline, the magnetic brake oscillates (cart lurches a bit, stops, lurches, stops, etc.). Also, when the cart is turned off, the brake is not engaged (i.e. the cart can be pushed). Has anyone experienced this? Solutions?

On the passenger side of your cart look in the rear wheel well and you'll see the side of your motor.

There should be what's called a spring applied magnetic brake (this is how they work). It's a round thing on the end of the motor that sort of looks like it's apart of the motor.

There should be 3 hex screws in a triangle pattern and then 2 smaller hex screws at the 12/6 o'clock positions.

Those 2 smaller screws need to be loose about 1/8"-1/4".

Yours may be tightened, and when they're tightened they physically prevent the brake from closing correctly.

Check that first.

This looks very logical. I have a technician coming Wednesday as dealing with this is above my pay grade. Thanks. Any other ideas or sources?

that sounds like the most plausible failure other than some type of electriccal issue

also there is a switch near the batteries under the seat that turns off the magnetic brake for towing / pushing when key is disengaged

try moving the switch of check for loose wires

Lol I must have made it sound more complicated that it is. I assure you that you are very capable of checking this.

Just go to the passenger/rear side of your cart and look behind the tire and you'll see the side of the motor with 5 screws. 2 of them are smaller than the other and touch them with your fingers and see if they're loose or not.

My 2021 icon I60L had the same issue I did loosen the two screws and it fixed the problem both of mine were tight why would they come tight from the factory in the first place. Seems like they will fall out now!

My new i20 has this issue. Checked the screws and they were loose. I loosened a bit more, but still have the problem (ocaasionally) which is annoying.
